I decided that I wanted to sleep a bit longer when mama scooped me up to bring me to school this morning. She put me into the carrier and I continued snoozing for the next half hour. Quite a feat considering that we had to walk by a row of noisy shops, up across an overhead bridge above the busy AYE, and then commute on the NUS internal shuttle bus to school.

Mama reckons that I started waking up when we reached school. But I didnt cry in the usual ra ra way for her to remove the ergo head cover and pull me out of the carrier. Instead I just kept my eyes wide open and peeped around me, through the small gaps between the cover and the carrier. The most amazing thing was that I didnt stir and make a single sound for the next 15 minutes (she actually timed me). Anyone who knows me even remotely well will know that this is not my usual self at all. Mama knows that I did this in the hope that she wouldnt suspect that I am awake, cos then she will pluck me out of the carrier, put me in school with my teachers, and then go off to work!!

All my teachers took turns to greet me good morning through the gaps. And here's the best part -- I even smiled to Luo lao shi, but still I didnt stir my limbs and I made no sound to signal to mama that I was awake. Finally, she had to take the initiative to pull the cover off and then prod me to wake up properly cos she was running late for work.

Mama thought that this incident was really funny cos it showed that I am a cheeky little imp, while papa thought that I was very scheming!
